The nominative is the
default
setting for nouns (nominative=normal)
Use the nominative for the SUBJECT (the person/thing doing the action) of the sentence
For example:
'The dog ate the meat'
'The dog' is the subject, so must be in the nominative case
EVERY SUBJECT of a sentence is in the nominative
Use the nominative after any form of:
