    Humerus, femur, tibia - allow for gross movement of limbs - throw kick and jump in football

    Tarsals in the foot and carpals in the hand - Allow for finer movements - flick of the wrist in cricket to apply spin to a bowl

    Cranium, pelvis, scapula - protect vital organs such as the heart and lungs

    • Storage of essential minerals
    • Site of muscle attachment

    • Formation of joints

    Sternum (back), ribs, vertebrae
  • What are the bones in the arm?
    humerus (top of the arm), radius (in line with the thumb), ulna

    Pelvis

    Carpals
  • What are the bones in the leg?
    Femur, patella (knee), tibia (larger bone), fibula (smaller), talus (foot)
