LESSON 10 - AUTHENTIC FREEDOM

• The Annunciation - When angel Gabriel announced to mary the news that she will become the mother of God.
• Having a sense of responsibility enables one to make a decision and do what is good and right.
• Freedom without a sense of responsibility may just lead to abuse and eventually destruction of oneself.
• "God willed that man should be left in the hand of his own counsel."

• Freedom - God's most precious gift to man.
• Freedom - Power rooted in reason and will to act or not to act, to do this and that and so to perfom deliberate actions.
• Freedom attains its perfection when is directed towards God.
• It is a call to love - A love that desires the well being of persons and frees one from the slavery of sin.
• Authentic Freedom - Means "To do the good", not "to do anything or to say anything"
• The pillars of Authentic Freedom:

  • The truth about Jesus the savior
  • The truths about the church
  • The truth about man and his dignity
• Freedom is not exercised in the right manner if the people are happy or satisfied with what they're doing at the expense of hurting other people.
• Human Freedom comes from God
• Freedom includes the responsibility of using one's will toward goodness.
• Freedom makes the man responsible for his acts to the extent that they are voluntary.
• "The Truth will set you free" - John 8:32
