They love Christmas- 'God bless you merry gentleman! May nothing you dismay!'
They think that it is a time for helping others e.g. charities- 'I help to support the establishments I have mentioned'
How Scrooge treats them:
He doesn't let them have a day off, even on Christmas day- 'A poor excuse for picking a man's pocket every twenty- fifth of December! But I suppose you must have the whole day. Be here all the earlier next morning!'
He is quite petty towards them- 'And its not fair'
Arguments that Scrooge puts forward to them and his attitude:
He doesn't care about the charities- 'If they would rather die, they had better do it and decrease the surplus population'
Doesn't like the poor as he wants to get rid of them.
He thinks the poor are bad people- 'Are there no prisons?'
He is very rude towards them- 'I wish to be left alone.'
