• Elbow Red Flags - fractures:

  • Monteggia
  • Galeazzi
  • Olecranon
  • Supracondylar
  • Radial head
  • Elbow dislocation +/- coronoid fracture
• Elbow Red Flags - fractures:

  • Monteggia
  • fracture to the proximal third of the ulna
  • dislocation of the head of the radius
• Elbow Red Flags - fractures:

  • Galeazzi
  • fracture of the distal 3rd of the radius
  • subluxations/dislocation of the inferior radioulnar joint
• Elbow Red Flags - fractures:

  • Olecronon
  • direct blow to the elbow or FOOSH and hyperextension of elbow
• Elbow Red Flags - fractures:

  • Supracondylar
  • common in paediatrics
  • extension + fall from height
• Elbow Red Flags - fractures:

  • Radial head
  • rarely seen in paediatrics
  • FOOSH with valgus force applied at elbow with slight flexion
• Elbow Red Flags - fractures:

  • Elbow dislocations +/- Coronoid fracture
  • fairly common in adults
  • 90% of dislocations are posterior
• Terrible Triad

  • elbow dislocation
  • radial head fracture
  • coronoid fracture
