    •Tension

  • Types of fracture/discontinuity:
    •Fracture: Complete break
    •Infraction: Incomplete break
    •Displaced: Bone has moved, no longer meet
    •Greenstick: No movement
    •Hinge: Only part of the bone is broken, normally bent in.
    •Simple: 2 pieces
    •Comminuted: Multiple pieces
    •Fracture lines: Radiating and concentric
  • What can trauma tell us?
    •When: Anti, Peri, Post Mortem?
    •What: What object caused the injury?
    •How many: How many blows there were?
    •Sequence: What order did they happen in?
    •Where: Where on the body did they occur?
    •How: How were they inflicted?
    •Who: Who were they inflicted by?
    •Why: Why were they inflicted?
