• Salmonella:

  • Spreas by bacteria ingested in food or food prepared in unhygenic conditions
  • Causes food poisoning
  • Toxins produced caue fever, abdominal cramps, vomiting, diarrhoea
  • Poultry in UK vaccinatd against salmonella to control spread
• Gonorrhoea:

  • STD - sexually transmitted
  • Causes thick yellow or green discharge from penis or vagina
  • Causes pain when urinating
  • Orginally treated by penicillin but resistant strains appeared
  • Sprad controlled by antibiotics and barrier methods
