  • Bacterial celss are prokaryotic cells
  • Bacterial cells are much smaller
  • Bacterial cells have a cytoplasm, cell membrane and cell wall
  • The genetic material is not in a nucleus - single DNA loop and small DNA rings (plasmids)
• • eukaryotic cells have DNA in nucleus
  • but prokaryotic cells do not contain DNA in nucleus
  • found free in cytoplasm
• • eukaryotic cells contain mitochondria and chloroplasts
  • prokaryotic cells have no mitochondria or chloroplasts
• • eukaryotic cells divide by mitosis
  • prokaryotic cells divide by binary fission
• • eukaryotic cells are bigger than prokaryotic cells
