• Give two reasons why a burette is used for the citric acid solution

  1. More accurate than a measuring cylinder
  2. Can measure variable volumes
• Phenolphthalein indicator:

  Alkalis = pink

  Acids = colourless
• Methyl orange indicator:

  Alkalis = yellow

  Acids = red
• Litmas indicator:

  Alkalis = blue
