• cell body Contains the nucleus
• Myelin sheath An insulating layer that protects the axon and speeds up the impulse
• Axon terminals (Transmitters) Communicate with the next neuron via the synapses
• Nucleus Contains the genetic material of the cell
• Axon Carries the impulse away from the cell body
• Dendrites (Receivers) Receive signals from other neurons or sensory receptors
• Node of Ranvier Help speed up the impulse by forcing it to jump across the gaps
