interviews tend to provide more qualitative in depth data than questionnaires which gives greater depth and detail than quantitative data.
however time consuming, cannot be statistically analysed without first conducting a content analysisencoding the data, pps can easily lie in interviews. especially when asked sensitive questions in order to respond to social desirability,
the face to face format allows the researcher to develop a rapport with the ppt which increases the likelihood of them giving accurate data. this cannot be done within a questionnaire
