  • self report techs are methods where the pp provides the info themselves rather than the researcher recording data, interviews are one type of self report used in psychological research
  • interviews tend to provide more qualitative in depth data than questionnaires which gives greater depth and detail than quantitative data.
  • however time consuming, cannot be statistically analysed without first conducting a content analysis encoding the data, pps can easily lie in interviews. especially when asked sensitive questions in order to respond to social desirability,
