• How It is Done

  It is done via a minor surgical procedure under local anesthesia, which releases progestin at a controlled rate.
• 2 Preparations for Implants Available:

  1.. Single Rod System (Implanon)

  ● Releases etonogestrel and has a life span of 3 years.

  ● Implant is 40 mm long and has a 2 mm diameter

  ● Contains 68 g of etonogestrel

  2. Two-Rod System (Jadelle)

  ● Releases levonorgestrel and is effective for 5 years

  ● Implant is 43 mm long, with each rod containing a drug-releasing core

  ● Contains 75 mg of levonorgestrel
