      A German physiologist, philosopher, and professor. He was considered the founding father of psychology and distinguished it from its previous philosophical roots thus resulting in it becoming more scientific.

      'looking into', a process where a person gains knowledge of their own mental states by examining their conscious feelings.

      Breaking up conscious awareness into basic structures: Thoughts, images and sensations.
    • Falsifiable
      When a scientific theory or hypothesis can be proved to be false, if it is false
    • Empiricism
      the view that knowledge comes from sensory experiences
