  • Overuse of Jargon
    Jargon means technical terms, it may not be easily understood by an average person. Researchers must be aware of their target population.
  • Emotive language
    When the researcher puts their emotion in the question, it guides Ps to answer in a certain way
  • Leading questions
    When the researcher leads the participant to an answer the researcher wants.
  • Double-barrelled
    Containing two questions about two different topics in one, and allows only one answer. The participant could only agree with half.
  • Double Negative
    When the question contains two negative points, making what the question is asking seem unclear.
    E.g. "Was the room not untidy?" this question is unclear it what it is asking, is it asking whether the room is tidy or untidy?
