  combine the midday and afternoon prayers as well as the sunset and night prayers so they pray 3x a day instead of 5
• direction of prayer 


  • muslims must face mecca
  • mosques have a mihrab which shows the exact direction of mecca
  • if praying outside a mosque muslims will use a compass
• wudu


  wash hands three times

  rinse mouth three times

  rinse nose three times

  rinse face three times

  wash arms three times

  wipe head once

  rinse ears three times

  wash feet three times
• jummah prayer 


  • takes place at midday on a friday and is a special prayer
  • all male muslims are expected to attend the mosque
  • must leave work or close their business to attend
