    • crime increases because of society
    • minatory group are not able to get materialistic goals by legitimate means
    • aware other have what they want = commit crime to keep up with materialistic goals
    • increased by media consumerism
    • eg social media = increase awareness of other wealth = engage in stain theory = entente infrastructure or theft
  • causes of crime: subcultures ?
    • Response to relative deprivation and marginalisation
    • subculture promotes = toughness , opposing to authority
    • some would go pro-crime - e.g. religion some would go anti-crime - e.g. innovation
    • produces utilitarian crime e.g. theft and robbery = to cope with relative deprivation
    • no support= non-utilitarian crime = violence and protest

    • marginalised groups ( eg Young, W/C) - unemployed , not reprehensive - excluded in mainstream society
    • ( polities ) = targeted By CJS- frustration leads to violent & damaging crime

    • Tackling policing and control

    • Democratic policing = police should work with communities and not against them
    • public involvement with polices priorities - build trust
    • stooping ' military policing '

    • Addressing social inequality - housing , jobs and education
    • improve job opportunities, housing and facilities
