In 1622 opechancanough decided to attack Jamestown as he was afraid of the colony expanding. He ended up killing 347 colonists.
Tisquantum hoped that by cooperating with the English he might save his people from any harm. He taught the first English colonists to survive by teaching them to plant maize.
