    Went to public school

    Typically upper/ middle class as they didn't get paid -played for the sake of the game

    Typically lower class as they got paid - were in it for money so get competitive

    Work hours decreased allowing more free time
    - employer encouraged time of work as they saw a benefit in work productivity
    Lower class still had a lack of disposable income
