Involves the controlled use of explosives and fire in film.
Motion control photography
Involves filming objects or actors slowly using specialised cameras and then speeding up the process up to create the illusion of size or add other elements onto the frame.
Morphing
Involves taking 2 images and using a computer programme to meld one into another; the result looking like a transformation.
Make-up and costume
These can dress a character up to look a certain way.
CGI (Computer Generated Imagery)
Involves a ‘touching up’ of film after principal photography can be minor or extensive.
Blue screen and green screen
Involves filming actors against a coloured screen and adding background images during the editing process.
Wire removal
Involves using wires to allow actors to defy gravity and then removing the wires in post-production- usually CGI.
Bullet time
Involves capturing a subject on film using multiple cameras at different angles- seeing a moving image at seemingly impossible angles.
