• To describe a whole set of data with a single value that represents the middle or centre of its distribution

  Measures of Central Tendancy
• considered as the physical middle point in a distribution because it is located at the center position

  Median
• If a distribution has an odd number of observations, the median value is the middle value
• If it is an even number, the median value is the mean or average of the two middle values
• It is the most commonly occurring value in a distribution.

  Mode
• the sum of all the values in the observation or a dataset divided by the total number of observations.
