what is an aim? 
a general statement of what the researcher intends to investigate, it is the purpose of the study
what is a potential aim? 
to investigate whether a person's ability to complete keepy uppys is affected by an audience being present or not
what is a hypothesis? 
a clear precise testable statement that states the relationship between the variables to be investigated.
whats a directional hypothesis? 
states direction of the relationship
eg: "increase"
whats a non-directional hypothesis 
does not state a direction
what are the 3 types of hypotheses?
directional ,non-directional and null
what is a null hypothesis 
states there will be no difference between variables being tested
when is directional used 
when previous research suggests a particular outcome
when is a non-directional hypothesis used? 
when theres no previous research findings of previous research is contradictory
