QUALIFICATIONS OF A JUROR

• The Juries Act 1974 sets out that jurors must be:

  • Aged 18 or over and under 76
  • Registered on the electoral register
  • A resident in the Uk at least 5 years after their 13th birthday
• A juror must not be:

  • A person detained or resident in a hospital under a Mental Health Order
  • Not be disqualified from jury service
