  • except in circumstances identified by law, info obtained about participants should be kept confidential unless otherwise agreed in advance. raw info gathered should only be seen by appropriate members of study and published research should not identify participants (use pseudonyms or numbers). raw data (e.g. tapes) should be destroyed after transcript made and archived properly
  • Anonymity
    researcher should not record names of any participants, instead thsy should use numbers or false names
  • Data storage
    all data should be stored in locked cabinets/password protected files and only accessed by researchers involved in study
