• Directional Alternative


  A hypothesis that says the IV will affect the DV and DOES say what the effect will be

  
  

  eg Boys will carry out more aggressive acts than girls
• Non-Directional Alternative


  A hypothesis that says the IV will affect the DV but DOESN'T say what the affect will be
