  • Aim
    To investigate how motivation affects a person's perception
  • Method
    26pp go without food for 20 hours. Control group were not deprived of food. Shown images of meals with a projector and then the brightness was turned all the way down. They were asked to adjust the brightness back to the same level that it was before.
  • Results
    Control = little difference in brightness from memory. Experimental = judged pictures to brighter the hungrier they become
  • Conclusion
    Hunger can affect the way people perceive images of food which suggests motivation can affect perception.
