Primary and Regency effect in recall

  To see if recall of a word was affected by the number of words a person has to remeber
• Method


  103 psychology students listened to 20 different word lists. The length varied from 10-40 words. After each list they had to recall the words they have just heard
• Results


  Primacy effect - higher recall of words at the start of the list

  Recency effect - higher recall of words at the end of the list
