    1918 due to russias absences (1 front ) and America coming. They launched one last attempt. 5hr long bombing followed by effective use of stormtroopers mustard gas flamethrowers led to 200000 British dead and 60 km of land gained.
    They moved so far they had to wait for supply’s which create a salient/ Buldge. Germans lost 500000 men

    key example of this is the battle of the Somme
    24th Jun 1916 over 2 mil shells fired at German trenches. Soldiers sent over the top however Germans were still alive. 20000 died on the first day. however General Haig did not stop sending men over the top which resulted in 600000 British casualties for only 6 miles gained. Haig gained the reputation of butcher of the Somme stalemate continued.
