    • The KEY PLAYMAKER.
    • Distributes the ball to the teammates
    • determines the direction of the team's attack
    • Superior communication skills
  • Libero
    • Exclusively defensive positions
    • Responsible for receiving an attack or serve
    • Usually the players with the quickest reaction time and best passing skills
    • Only play in the back row and they're often the pillar of defense
  • Middle blockers
    • middle hitters
    • Primarily responsible for blocks, attempt to stop equally fast plays from opponent
    • Often the tallest of the team
    • Must be able to read the other team's offense
  • Outside hitter
    • Left wing spikers or Left-side hitters
    • Pin hitter
    • Typically the most athletic on the court
    • Is responsible for attacking and blocking on the left side of the court, as well as passin, defending, and serving

    • Right-wing spikers or right-side hitters
    • Typically the second attacker and is responsible for hitting the ball from the back row
    • They put up a well-formed block against opponent's outside hitters
