• Marshall plan- Truman's speech to congress stated that the us would support any country threatened by communism with military or economic aid, over 12mill$ was given out in the end.
• The Truman doctrine, announced in March 1947

  • The USA promised to provide aid to any countries suffering after WWII who would take a stand against communism.
• Domino Theory


  A political theory suggesting that if one country falls to communism, neighboring countries will also fall unless prevented by a strong power.
• Dollar Imperialism


  A policy where the US maintained influence over other countries through economic power and the value of the US dollar as a global currency.
• Containment


  A foreign policy strategy to prevent the spread of communism by containing or limiting its expansion.
