• noble gases are inert due to having full outer shells causing them to be very stable and therefore unreactive
• • low density - helium in balloons much less dense than air
  • inertness - argon used as shield gas in welding
  • non- flammability - neon used in neon lights and argon used in light bulbs as they both wont react with the hot metal filament inside
