Behaviorism

• Behaviourism is the study of observable behaviours
• Generalisation is when a CR happens from a stimulus similar to CS
• Discrimination is when similar stimulus and CS are differentiated
• Classical conditioning is when the UCR from a UCS is applied to a NS, causing a CR from the now CS
• Reinforcement is use to increase the frequency of a behaviour
• Punishment is used to decrease the frequency of a behaviour
• Operant conditioning uses consequences for behaviour
• One weakness of operant conditioning is that it mostly uses non human animals for research
• One strength of operant conditioning is that it is well researched
