• the shape of the curve on a frequency graph is called distribution of the data
• When data is distributed around the middle, we call it a normal distribution (symmetrical and bell curved)
• when data isn't in the middle it is Skewed data, which is distributed asymmetrically
• Positive skew is where data are centred to the left and has a long tail on right
• Negative skew is where data is centred to the right and has a long tail on the left
