• Men came first in the New Deal policies for unemployment and working conditions
• Economy Act 1933 - forbade members of same family from working in federal government
• NRA codes allowed for unequal wages
• Agencies such as CCC, didn't employ women
• New Deal created Civilian conservation Corps (1933-42) which gave work to young men. Employed 2.5 million in replanting forests and digging reservoirs
