• Aim was to support and grow attention to the lack of working rights for working women
• Occasionally criticised as some women thought it was hindering women's progress, when supporting and pushing for government legislation.
• Supported the supreme court's 1908 Muller v Oregan - Stated women's working hours should be no more than 10
• Supporting Muller v Oregan restricted working hours, forcing poorest women to break rules and subsequently lose their jobs
