    It is filtered out via the kidneys and passed out the body in urine alongside excess mineral ions and water
  • Why is the removal of water, urea and ions tightly regulated?
    To maintain a water balance so cells won't receive too much or too little water via osmosis to function optimally
  • What happens to urine if you are dehydrated?
    • Less urine produced
    • Urine becomes more concentrated with urea
  • What happens to urine if you are over hydrated?
    • More urine is produced
    • Urine becomes less concentrated with urea
