Reliability and Validity

  * internal - when a measure is consistent by measuring certain thing at same level all way through

  * external - when measure gives same/similar scores when used at different points in time

  * inter rater - when two or more psychologists make same judgements about something
• types of validity?

  * ecological - when findings reflect real life situations

  * population - when findings represent population on which they're based

  * construct - when something is judged in way that captures whole concept
