To determine if men would take more risks in the presence of a attractive female instead of a male
Research Method
Field experiment at Brisbane skate park
Procedure
Young males with a mean age of 21.58 were asked to do one easy trick thats mastered and one hard trick which had not been mastered 10 times each.
The young males were recorded and asked by a attractive female or a male.
Results
When it was a attractive female the participants were attempting harder tricks and not backing out less.
The success rate for the easier tricks was also higher
Hypothesis
Attractive women have the power to shift mens time perspective away from long term consequences of their choices and focus their attention on the here and now.
Findings
Due to the presence of a attractive female, men tend to take their time perspective away from long term consequences of their choices and focus on impressing the attractive female, due to the possible increase in testosterone.
