• The Renaissance - focused on HUMANISM, the revival of classical learning, and individual potential
• Modernism - marked by EXPERIMENTAL STYLES, fragmental narratives and focus on the inner self
• Postmodernism - focused on QUESTIONING ESTABLIESTABLISHEDED TRUTHS, blending genres, and often using irony and metafiction
• Contemporary - reflects the diverse, GLOBALISED world of today, often addressing current social, political, and technological issues
• Enlightenment - emphasis on REASON, science, and intellectualism, with satire often used to critique society and authority
• Victorian Period - addressed SOCIAL ISSUES like class disparity, industrialization, and morality
• Old English - rooted in ORAL TRADITION, featuring epics and tales of heroes
• Romanticism - emphasis on EMOTION, nature, individualism, and imagination
