  • Process
    • 36 boys and 36 girls aged 3-6
    • Pre tested to see how agressive they were on a 5 star scale and matched similar children in pairs
    • Separated pairs into 3 models - aggressive, with a female and male model, non agressive with female and male and no model
    • Agressive models would act aggressively towards the bobo dolls and non agressive models would ignore it
    • Children were put in the room with the bobo doll and agressive and non agressive toys and were given 20 minutes being observed in 5 second intervals
  • Results
    • Children who saw the agressive model has much more agressive responses to the bobo doll
    • Girls made more physical responses to male bobo dolls and verbal responses to female dolls, excluding the number of punches
    • Boys were more inclined to imitate same sex models than girls
    • Boys were more physically agressive than girls and there was little difference with verbal agression
