  • What is step one for the test for lipids?

    Add 5cm cubed of ethanol to 2cm cubed of the sample in a completely dry grease-free test tube.
  • What is step 2?
    Shake the tube thoroughly to dissolve any lipid in the sample.
  • What is step 3?

    Add 5cm cubed of water and gently shake.
  • What will happen if the test is positive?
    A milky-white emulsion will indicate the presence of a lipid.
