Potsdam Conference (d)

• The Potsdam Conference took place in 17th of July 1945
• Truman had replaced Roosevelt because he had died
• Attlee replaced Churchill halfway through the Conference
• This time they disagreed about Germany being split into 4 zones because the USSR wanted to cripple it
• They disagreed over reparations with Stalin demanding £10 billion, as the USSR had suffered 20 million deaths
• Truman adopted a 'get tough' attitude against Stalin
