    • What is the aim? States the intent of the study in general terms. E.g to investigate the effect if caffeine on memory recall.
    • What is a hypothesis? A prediction of an investigation's outcome.
    • What is a directional hypothesis? (one tailed): This will argue a direction of the predicted results.
    • What is a non-directional hypothesis? (two tailed): This will not predict a specific direction, simply just a change.
    • What is a research hypothesis? This will predict that the IV will have an effect on the DV.
    • What is a null hypothesis? This predicts that a relationship will not be found.
