• What happens at the synapse?

  1. nerve impulse arrives at the synapse
  2. chemicals(neurotransmitters) are realsed into the synapse
  3. chemicals diffuse across the synapse
  4. chemicals bond with receptors on the next neurone
  5. electrical impulse is passed onto the next neurone
