3 differences between test of difference hypothesis and correlational hypothesis
correlational has 2 dependent variables whereas test of difference has one independent variable and one dependent variable
correlational cannot show us causation (because one variable causes the other) but test of difference can show us how it is caused
correlational uses variables which can be put onto scales but test of difference can use categorical data
a correlation is a test to see whether 2 variables are related - relationship between 2 variables
example of correlation within psychology includes banduras bobo doll experiment which outlined the correlation between observing adults behvaiour and their levels of aggression
correlations are shown on scatter graphs
fill in the gaps
A) -0.4
B) 1
C) no correlation
curvilinear correlation is where there is a predictable relationship but has an optimum point
