• What is self-report data?

  Data that someone has given about themselves gathered by interviews and questionnaires
• What are questionnaires?

  Written interview that can be in person, by telephone, by post or online. Respondents complete themselves without any input from the researcher.
• What does pilot study mean?


  A practice run carried out on a small group to test the clarity and wording allows improvements and changes may be made
• What is a closed question?


  Requires a specific answer, no possibility of extending the answer (quantitative data)
• What is an open question?


  Answer allows opinions to be made freely (qualitative data)
• What is response bias?


  Answering the same in the first few questions might encourage them to keep repeating the same answer
• What are the positives of questionnaires?
