    • in 1900 men were expected to live to 44
    • in 2018, males life expectancy was 78.95, females life expectancy was 82.8
    effects of
    • social class - better off people can access health care easier - betters their health and well being making them live longer
    • gender - women tend to outlive men as men take more risks 
    • region - eg north of the UK is poorer than the south, being born in north = having access to worse education which ruins the ability of getting desired grades to do certain jobs leading to doing an unskilled job
