  • Sometimes ppts are not told the aim of the study.
  • There are sometimes additional details that are kept from the ppt in the study:
    • Which condition they are taking part in.
    • Whether there is another condition at all.
  • When this happens, it is called a single blind procedure.
  • Sometimes neither the ppts or the researcher are aware of the aims of the investigation.
  • When neither party are aware of the aims/ conditions, this is called a double blind procedure.
