The sense of Ought is the sense of what is right and wrong, good and bad. When we do we feel guilty or ashamed.
Trust is key to being able to believe in Gods existence
If we believe something because we have seen it. Then it is different from believing IN something we haven't seen.
People believe in God because they want someone to rely on, a true friend, to have guidance and to feel safe and protected.
Omnipotent
All powerful
Omniscient
All knowing
Omnipresent
Everywhere at once
Benevolent
Perfectly good and all loving
Eternal
Without beginning or end
people don't believe in God because he doesn't always give us what we want, there is so much suffering and God could have fixed it and there is no visual proof he existed.
Atheism - belief that there is noGod
Agnosticism - belief that the existence of God cannot be proved or disproven.
The moral argument-the assumption that all people regardless of where they live or the religion they profess to believe in still have a sense of morality.
the sense oF Morality must have come from someone of something more powerful than humans. That something must be God.
The Moral Argument- " This argument states that if we know that some things and right and other things are wrong there must be a supreme moral lawgiver -God." Aquinas
"Conscience is the voice of God." -Wittenstein
" If we feel responsibility, are ashamed, are frightened are transgressing the voice of conscience, this implies that there is one whom we are responsible." -Cardinal Newman
The teleological argument- this argues that everything has a purpose and that the universe as a whole has a purpose too. It suggests that the complexity of the world shows evidence of design by a creator.
Aquinas- He argues that the biggest evidence was that the universe exists. He thought that something cannot come from nothing.
I think Aquinas has a valid reason because someone had to make life and someone had to create a seed for a flower to grow
Paley- watch theory. He thought that if you found a watch you would think there was a designer and it cannot just appear. same how animals have been fitted to their adaptations - there must be a designer
this may make people think that God is a designer because there must be a creator of the universe.
Darwin- evolution. He claimed that life evolved from very simple structures to create the universe we now live in. Species survived due to their adaptations and how they evolved . He thinks that if the world failed to adapt there would be no humans
We think that we have evolved from monkeys. If that is true then where did monkeys evolve from and what happened before that eventually i believe it will all lead to God
Hume - Several Gods - He thinks that God created the universe and then left after he designed it. He believes that if God was still here then he would stop all of the earthquakes. he also agrees with Darwin
There is a possibility that there is more than one God but it comes back to our faith for us to believe that God is with us.
Moses and the BurningBush- The Bible says that God spoke to Moses on Mount Sinai. he sees a bush that is on fire but is not being consumed. God tells moses he is standing on holy ground and he must return to Egypt to free the Israelites from the Pharaoh
Abraham and Isaac- In Genesis it says that Abraham was told by god to sacrifice his son Isaac. He took him up mount moriah and prepared to kill him when an angel stopped him saying that he had passed the test of faith. God provided a ram instead so that Abraham did not have to go through with killing his own child.
Modern day miracle- 12 boys and a coach were trapped in a collapsed cave after a monsoon flooded the cave. they were stuck for 9 days but british divers discovered them alive 3 days later they were successfully rescued. This story highlights teamwork, hope and determination.
Modern day miracle- in 2015 there was an earthquake in Nepal. after 120 hours a 15-year old was found under the rubble of a seven story building. With faith and prayers he was saved. This story is a symbol of hope, resilience and strength of human spirit.
Miracles are events that break the rules of nature and cannot be explained by science, a seemingly impossible occurrence (usually good)
coincidences are events in which the rules of nature have not been broken but a coincidence happens at the right place just at the right time.
the miracle of the bleeding woman- a bleeding woman touched Jesus in a large crowd. Immediately, the bleeding stopped.
Jarius's daughter had died and jesus said "Don't be afraid ; just believe and she will be healed. " and she was.
Christians believe that God works through miracles. They believe that Jesus performed miracles that showed the power love and revelation of God. That Jesus was God in human form
" Father, Father, Father help us, we need some guidance from above."
Examples of evil:

Moral evil- Caused by humans making the wrong decisions (e.g- war )
Natural evil - Nothing to do with humans, involves diseases and natural disasters which cause massive suffering
