Observations had high reliability

Cards (4)

    • In observational studies, the reliability of observations is important
    • There needs to be agreement amongst observers (inter-observer reliability), which is determined by comparing the ratings made by a panel of experienced judges
    • Ainsworth et al. (1978) found almost perfect agreement in the Strange Situation – they found .94 agreement (1.00 = perfect)
    • This means that the observations can be accepted as being reliable
