    Must report on factual statistics - we live in a representative democracy, so it is their duty to be honest with us.
  • BBC News
    • Run by a regulatory body (OFCOM) - ensures that the BBC does not provide biased material to readers
    • BBC is a publically owned body and has to report without bias meaning that a balanced view will be present.
    • requires two independantly verified sources before it can publish any material.
  • Channel 4 news
    • Well respected - has high trust rates amongst UK sources of news.
    • Regulated by OFCOM - cannot promote a signle political agenda and must produce a fair and balanced report.
  • The Guardian
    The Guardian is a high quality and respected broadsheet newspaper.
  • Pressure Groups
    Pressure group = a group of people focused solely on that issue and therefore may be experts on the issue at hand.
  • IPOS Mori
    • One of the largest and well-known market research companies in the UK.
    • SAMPLE SIZE - have a lot of people filled in the survey? The larger the number the more representative it is of the population
  • YouGov
    • One of the largest worldwide market research companies
    • Online Surveys can be filled in and reach a lot of people who have access to the internet.
    • SAMPLE SIZE - the more people that fill it in the more representative it is of the population.
